Four school facilities are located within Clare, including one public primary school (Clare Primary School), one Lutheran Education Based primary school (Vineyard Primary School) and one Catholic Education Based primary school (St Joseph’s Primary School) and a combined middle/high school complex. An Out of School Hours Care program is located at Clare Primary School.
Clare Valley Children’s Centre offers Long Day Care, child care facilities as well as Kindergarten, Toy Library and Playgroup. The Gums Childcare Centre is a Long Day Care and child care facility and provides a Kindergarten service (not DECS based). The Family Day Care Regional Office in also located on the Clare Valley Children’s Centre site.

The Gums is a privately owned and operated long day care centre licensed for 75 children across 4 rooms:
Babies 6 weeks to 14 months
Waddlers 14 months to 2 years
Toddlers 2 – 3 ½ years
Kindy 3 ½ – 6 years
The service is open for approximately 51 weeks of the year, closing for 1 week over the Christmas period and for all public holidays.
Our opening hours are 7 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday.
