Day One: Auburn- Sevenhill

Starting in Auburn, the gateway to the Clare Valley, enjoy a coffee at Mellers of Auburn before heading admiring the artwork on display at Vanderpeer Gallery on the main street.

Dine in for lunch at Terroir Auburn or the Rising Sun Hotel, both offering a fabulous selection of local food and fine wines.

On the winery front, there’s Mount Horrocks Wines, Grosset Wines, Koonowla Wines and Taylors Wines.

Feeling energetic?  The Riesling Trail also begins in Auburn - hire a bike from Cogwebs and start your trek through the Clare Valley.

Jump in the car and head north, winding your way through the hamlets and villages of the region, including Watervale, Leasingham, Penwortham and Sevenhill. Cellar doors along the way include Tim Gramp Wines, O’Leary Walker, Claymore Wines, clos Clare, Shut the Gate, Tim McNeil Wines and Crabtree Wines, just to name a few.

For dinner, dine in at the renowned Sevenhill Hotel or another local hotel - the Bentley's, Taminga or Clare Hotel, where you’ll probably find a local or two enjoying a beer. Try Seed Winehouse + Kitchen, a stylish yet relaxing restuarant in the heart of Clare, offering regional cuisine, cocktails and local and interstate wines.

Day Two : Sevenhill - Clare

Begin with breakfast at one of the many bakeries in Clare - Clare Rise Bakery or Main Street Bakehouse, or try a local cafe. Zest and Wild Saffron in Clare offers a full menu for breakfast using local eggs and award-winning Mathies bacon.

Get back to nature by exploring the Riesling Trail, or take a hike through the magnificent Spring Gully Conservation Park passing though Sussex Squire Wines for a refreshing stop before stopping at the Neagles Rock Lookout to take a photo or two.

Feeling hungry? Try Mr Micks Cellar Door & Kitchen in Clare, for a selection of delicious Spanish style tapas. There’s also Seed Winehouse + Kitchen, Clare Indii or Clare Asian Cuisine, all located in the main street of Clare.

Before you head home, buy a bottle or two of local wine at one of the cellar doors in Clare, or some regional produce to impress your friends.
